Nintendo Wii Fit Bundle : a First Impression ReviewBy burnzco on November 5, 2009 | No Comments
Well, I’ve finally decided to get it. A few days ago, I finally made the difficult decision of purchasing the Nintendo Wii Fit Bundle. Alright I admit it, it’s not really that difficult because I got it at a real bargain. When I received the package in the mail, I couldn’t contain my excitement. After all, the Nintendo Wii Fit is the latest innovative games and workout machine out in the market today!
What’s In The Nintendo Wii Fit Bundle?
As I unpack my Nintendo Wii Fit bundle package anxiously, I notice that there are quite a number of items included. There’s the Nintendo Wii game console, the Wii Fit Balance Board and a peripheral of accessories such as the console stand, remote for the games console, nunchuck, AV adapter & cables. Included with the balance board is a disc of software which contains activities or exercises such as the yoga, body balance, muscle building and aerobic exercises and routines.
My Wii game console also came with 5 Wii Sports games for Tennis, Bowling, Baseball, Golf and Boxing. Now, you’ll need the Wii game console before you can make use of Wii Fit system. When I was first planning my purchase, I noticed that there were many packages selling at rock bottom prices all over the web. But beware, most of them don’t include the Wii game console! You may end up paying more if you buy them separately. If you don’t have the Wii game console, the more economic choice will be the Wii Fit bundle as retailers tend to package them at a more attractive price.
My Workout Experience On the Nintendo Wii Fit
After I setup the Wii Fit system, I started working out on it with a heart rate monitor strapped on my wrist. It took a while for me to get used to the menu navigation though frankly, they’re pretty user friendly. It may take some time off the workout time but I’m sure that can be minimized once I get more familiar with the system.
What I’ve noticed was, some of the activities didn’t gave me as good a workout as I expected. The soccer heading game was a disappointment and didn’t even raise my heart rate above the minimum. And when I compared my statistics across activities such as the Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobic and Balance, the aerobic section stood out.
My favourite by far was the Hula Hoop game. As I tried to balance myself, keeping all the hoops in the air while catching some more, my heart beat was raised to 172bpm. Not only was it a good workout, it was pretty fun and enjoyable.
Perhaps you may be asking “So, do you think the Nintendo Wii Fit is a good way to lose weight?”. Personally I don’t think the Wii Fit can really help to lose much weight given the nature of the activities involved. Maybe a pound or two a week. But I’m sure they’ll be quite effective in another department of your life.
Lifestyle and fun.

A Nintendo Wii Bundle Is A One Stop ShopBy burnzco on November 4, 2009 | No Comments
By now you have certainly heard of the revolutionary new video game platform, the Nintendo Wii. Unlike anything that has come before it, the Wii makes the players part of the game with its revolutionary new control system. The Wii controller is a wireless remote control that senses movements in three dimensions. That remote sensing technology allows you to eschew the conventional buttons and joysticks that have been the standard for video games for decades. Instead, of pushing buttons or moving a stick, you move your arms; gesturing, swinging, poking, and sometimes flailing your way through the game! If you want to experience this amazing new game platform for yourself it can be difficult to know exactly what to purchase in order to have everything you need to enjoy the Wii experience. That is why the Nintendo Wii bundle is such an enticing option.
Purchased by itself, the Wii comes with a remote control - officially called a Wiimote - and a Nunchuk controller; an analog joystick that attaches to the Wiimote using a long cable. The Nunchuk also has the internal accelerometer that the Wiimote possesses, so it too is capable of motion sensing as well. The Nunchuk is to be used in conjunction with the Wiimote and it serves to enhance the game play experience. Further, the Wii includes all the power cords, audio-video cords, and the sensor bar and stands that you need to get started. Most important, the Wii includes Wii Sports, a game that lets you test your skills on the golf course, baseball diamond, bowling alley, boxing ring, and tennis court; it is the perfect platform to demonstrate the things the Wii can do. However, for those who want to see all the Wii is capable of doing, then you need more than the basic offerings, and a Nintendo Wii Bundle can deliver precisely that.
A Nintendo Wii Bundle is a package deal that is available at various retailers such as Gamestop, EB Games, and Wal-Mart. A typical Nintendo Wii Bundle includes all the basics that accompany a basic Wii purchase, but with many valuable extras. For example, the Nintendo Wii bundle available at Gamestop includes additional memory, an additional remote control, a twelve month product replacement plan, and 6 additional games; Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Trauma Center: Second Opinion, Red Steel, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, and Madden NFL 2007. The Nintendo Wii Bundle from Wal-Mart, and other retailers, follows a similar vein, but the included games can vary. For example, Wal-Mart offered four additional games in their Nintendo Wii bundle, and at a lower price that reflects the fewer included game titles.
A Nintendo Wii bundle is the perfect way to begin experiencing the fun and excitement the Wii has to offer. If you are purchasing a Wii as a gift for someone else and you are not a game savvy person, a Nintendo Wii bundle is a very attractive option because you can be certain that the recipient will not only have all the hardware they need to play, they will have a great selection of games as well. Depending on where you shop you might find that the Nintendo Wii bundle has been a hot seller and is currently not being offered. However, careful and thorough shopping will let you find a Nintendo Wii bundle deal that is available and with a selection of games that fits your needs and budget.

The Wii Fit is a truly interactive game that works along with a “balance board”, a completely new controller that was developed especially for the Wii. This controller sits flat on the floor, and the player stands atop it. The player is able to input personal information regarding height, weight, age and other details, and the Wii Fit game will appraise their general health and suggest a fitness program. The Wii Fit game provides a number of excellent benefits, making it a worthwhile acquisition not only for children and adults who are looking to lose a little bit of weight, but also anyone who is interested in leading a more active lifestyle. This is an excellent family friendly game for anyone who is serious about their health, or who enjoys being active when playing video games.
The Wii consoles is an excellent new gaming console that is available for purchase with a myriad of different family friendly games. Among the most popular Wii console games are Guitar Hero and Rock Band, simulator games that allow players to play controllers that work like musical instruments. Setting Up Your Nintendo Wii Made EasyBy burnzco on November 2, 2009 | No Comments
So you’ve just excitedly rushed home from the shop with your new Nintendo Wii, opened the box and then stopped dead in your tracks - because it’s just occurred to you that you haven’t the faintest idea how to setup Nintendo Wii. This article is here to help you with this process; it’s easier than it looks, so don’t worry!
Starting to Setup Wii
First you’ll need to determine how you want the orientation of your Nintendo Wii. The Wii can sit either vertically or horizontally. If you want to place your unit vertically, place the Wii in the control plate which will be included in the box. What you need to consider here is the space available in your entertainment center and the best way to orient your Wii to ensure that it has sufficient air flow to remain cool.
Plug in Wii
After this, you need to plug in your Wii to both your outlet and to the television set. Check the back or perhaps the front of your TV to see what manner of A/V connections is present. Once you’ve found these, plug the correct cord from the Wii into the corresponding plug on your television.
The next step is to plug the AC adapter included with your Wii into the wall outlet and then into the back of your Nintendo Wii console. If you are in, or plan to travel to Europe, remember to use the proper AC adapter - using the wrong type can damage your Wii.
After you setup Nintendo Wii to be connected to your television and to your power, the next thing to do is to plug in the sensor bar to your unit. Find the sensor bar jack on your Wii and plug in the cord there. You must then find a spot to place the sensor bar where the controllers can properly orient themselves to it. The sensor bar has infrared light emitters which the controllers need to receive so you will need an unobstructed sight line between the two. Ideally, you will place your sensor bar in the middle of your TV, which will make it easy for the controllers to align themselves.
The next thing to do to setup Nintendo Wii is to get the controllers up and running. Each controller uses two AA batteries. Install these in the controllers, put a game in your Wii console and then turn on the unit. Make sure that your television set is tuned to channel 3 and you should be ready to go. Follow the instructions which will appear on your screen to finish controller setup and you’re off!
If you are unsure about any step to setup Nintendo WIi in your home, just consult the helpful list below:
? Place Your Wii properly - decide whether to place your Wii vertically or horizontally depending on your available space and air flow for the console.
? Plug your Wii in to your television and to a wall outlet using the adaptor included.
? Plug in your sensor bar and place it in a central location on top of your television set.
? Place AA batteries in your controllers and put a game in your Nintendo Wii unit.
? Turn on the console, turn your television to channel 3 and follow the instructions to complete setup.
? Have fun!

Nintendo Wii PlayBy burnzco on November 1, 2009 | No Comments
If you were asked what the best selling game on Wii is, you might think of Mario Galaxy, Wii Fit or Super Smash Bros. Brawl. You may be surprised to learn that it’s actually a collection of 9 mediocre mini-games. The game is Nintendo Wii Play.
If you don’t already know, the reason for Wii Play’s success is its value for money. It is such good value for money because the game come bundled with a Wii Remote.
Of course the Wii comes with one controller but most owners will at some stage want to play multiplayer games. The multiplayer aspect of the Wii is one of the main ways the system is promoted. Just look at any of the adverts for Wii games. They always show a family or group of friends having a fun time together on the Wii. They never depict the man playing Zelda until the early hours who looks drained as he’s been playing the game for 8 hours straight, yet feels determined to finish “just one more dungeon” before bed. That is another side of the Wii, but Nintendo focus their marketing on having fun together.
Since a second controller is required to get the most out of the console, most Wii owners will want to purchase one. Wii Remotes typically cost between £26.99 and £29.99. Wii Play with Wii Remote costs around £28. So in some cases you can actually buy it for less than the Wii remote alone. At most you will not pay more than a few extra pounds for Wii Play than you would for the controller alone.
The downside of Nintendo Wii Play is that the mini-games themselves are very shallow and likely to become boring and repetitive quickly. After each game has been unlocked, which can usually been done within two attempts at the previous game, there are no rewards for continued play other than a high score. If some of the games were a little more difficult to unlock, it could add further value to the title.
The following is a brief rundown of each mini-game.
Shooting Range - This is first game available in Wii Play. Players aim their remote at the screen and fire using the trigger at clay pigeons, ducks and flying saucers.
Laser Hockey - Like Air Hockey, two players use a mallet to hit a puck into their opponent’s goal. The motion of the remote is tied to the motion of the mallet.
Tanks - This 2D overhead shooting game is the only one in Nintendo Wii Play for which the Nunchuck can be used alongside the Remote. The Wii Remote is used to aim your tank’s gun at enemies while the Nunchuck is used to move the tank around the play area.
Find Mii - The remote is used to select a Mii from a crowd which matches criteria given before each round.
Charge - This is the only game where the remote is held in the style of bicycle handle bars. The remote can be used like a steering wheel to race a cow to the end of a track before the time runs out. Bashing into scarecrows is rewarded with time extensions.
Billiards - As you would expect this is a Wii Play version of Billiard. The remote is used to select where the cue ball is hit, then the remote is pulled back and pushed forth to simulate the motion of the cue in order to hit the ball.
Table Tennis - The remote is used to control the position of a bat in a table tennis match.
Fishing - The play must cast their rod by swinging the remote and then move the rod around to catch a fish and pull it up.
Pose Mii - This Nintendo Wii Play game uses Mii characters. Pressing the button on the controller changes the pose of the Mii. The Mii must then be manoeuvre into a matching shape inside a moving bubble.
Nintendo Wii Play is almost a free title given away with a Wii Remote so you needn’t think too hard about whether or not to purchase it. Just don’t expect the game itself to keep you entertained for more than a few hours.
Nintendo Wii Play is available now to buy for around ?28 pound. At almost the same price as a Wii Remote, Nintendo Wii Play is almost being given away for free. -

Nintendo Wii Remote ControllerBy burnzco on October 27, 2009 | No Comments
You must be well aware about the popularity of Wii these days. Nintendo has created a game controller that combines the functionality of a remote control with the latest motion-sensing technology which is normally used in cruise control technique in vehicles. The result is Wii Remote some time known as “Wiimote” as well. The advanced technology used like optical sensor and accelerometer systems allows player to interact with the games being played on the screen. Well Wii Remote can be used as steering wheel, in tennis game can be used as tennis racket, for fishing game as fishing rod. Simply Wii remote controller gives you real world experience in gaming.
Nintendo has now introduced new accessory for the Wii Remote, the Wii Motion Plus. This upgrade plugs into the Wii Remote and enhances its functionality by detecting other human movements, like twisting of the wrist. Sound amazing isn’t it? The ultra-sensitive Wii Motion Plus will be packaged with Wii Sports Resort which will contain added games like sword fighting and jet skiing. The Wii Remote has helped Nintendo to catch up with Microsoft’s Xbox 360. And in the competition Nintendo is winning the game by launching new products day by day. This edge would continue with Nintendo releasing the Wii Speak microphone to tie in with its new Animal Crossing game. This, combined together with Wii Music, will give Wii players a huge variety of completely different games to choose from.
Well then Wii Nunchuck is also a kind of wii controller which provides additional functionality with wii remote. Like in sword fighting game you can use wii nunchuck as defender. In first-person shooters, the controller carries the burden of movement, freeing you to aim and fire using a more natural motion with the Wii Remote. In a football game, you can make your quarterback elusive with the Nunchuck controller while you look for an open receiver to throw to using the Wii Remote.
The Wii is not only a great games device with advanced controller but is also a great platform for other types of media like you can listen to music and ultimate fun with Nintendo Wii.

Wii System by Nintendo - Acceptable Exercise?By burnzco on October 25, 2009 | No Comments
The Wii definitely has people talking and apparently, exercising! Wii was originally released in 2006 and by Christmas 2007 had people scattering, scrounging and waiting outside various stores at 5 am in ice storms for one of the precious long awaited shipment! A distinguishing feature of the console is its wireless controller, which can be used as a handheld pointing device and can detect acceleration in three dimensions. Another is the WiiConnect24, which enables it to receive messages and updates over the Internet while in standby mode. I would like to focus on the former feature and the associated buzz that Wii is providing exercise for its users.
Childhood obesity and the care of our elderly are both pressing social concerns in America. Wii seems to address both issues. Playing the Wii makes an impact on the user’s heart rate, energy expenditure and amount of calories burned. Independent studies are producing positive results that regular Wii gaming can decrease body fat, lower resting heart rate, lower BMI, and result in weight loss. There is a well documented study posted on the net by a man who added playing Wii sports into his daily activity regimen while leaving everything else the same. He too had positive results. You can find his work on http://wiinintendo.net/2007/01/15/wii-sports-experiment-results/. In his study boxing produced the most drastic results.
Elder care facility members have also been reaping the benefits of this system. This was a previously untapped market for video games. Wii has managed to engage nursing home residents mentally as well as physically. It has brought out a spirit of competitiveness that has been sedentary in a majority of them for quite some time. An additional benefit to Wii gaming for seniors is that they can participate in gaming with their children and grandchildren. The Wii gives seniors and their grandchildren some common ground and an activity they can participate in together and both enjoy.
The physical benefits of Wii gaming for children is a disputed point. Wii provides more exercise than traditional gaming of course but should not encompass a child’s complete exercise regimen. It is recommended that a child receive at least 60 combined total minutes of exercise everyday. While playing Wii for 60 minutes a day would be more beneficial than watching television or playing a traditional video or computer game it should not substitute traditional play all together.
Outdoor play including participating in team sports has many benefits aside from physical activity. Social interaction, exposure to outdoor elements, exposure to new situations and environments are benefits gained from traditional play. These benefits foster imagination, creativity and a child’s sense of individuality. Furthermore, according to a study at John Moore University in Liverpool, England, playing Wii games such as Wii Bowling and Wii Sports, burns approximately 60 calories per hour. This is dramatically less calories burned than walking, running and participating in a sport.
Seniors and adults on average receive far less exercise performing their daily activities than a child. Wii gaming will have a more drastic positive effect on a person the more sedentary their lifestyle. In response to the hype about the physical benefits of Wii gaming, Wii is now marketing a product titled Wii Fit. Wii Fit is a pressure-sensitive balance board. The board is used for an array of dynamic activities including aerobics, yoga, muscle stretches and games. The activities are geared toward providing a core workout that emphasizes slower, controlled motions such as in Pilates and Yoga.
In summary, Wii gaming is being heralded for its physical benefits. These benefits are most notably being reaped by seniors who are participating in Wii gaming. When it comes to children however, Wii gaming should be considered part of a child’s active play and in no way substitute a child’s traditional outdoor play and participation in team sports.
I have an extensive background in Finance and Fiscal Procedure. I also have a web business where I offer Computer Learning Software for Kids. I am very interested in the product itself as well as the subject matter that it involves.

Hottest Video Games and System is the Nintendo Wii an...By burnzco on October 25, 2009 | No Comments
Nintendo, a leader in video game consoles has struck another home run with their latest offering. The Nintendo Wii is a revolutionary video game system that puts the player right in the middle of the action. Most video game systems have controllers with several buttons which control different movements of the characters within the game. The Nintendo Wii is different. It’s controller senses movements of the player and responds accordingly. If a player is playing tennis on the Wii, they will hold the controller in their hand and swing, just as if they controller was a tennis racquet. Same goes with bowling; The player holds the controller as if it’s the bowling ball.
The Nintendo Wii was introduced in November 2006 and was an immediate success. Sales of the Nintendo Wii were so brisk that stores could not keep enough in stock to satisfy the demand. Since it’s introduction, Nintendo has sold over 34 million Nintendo Wii game consoles.
Because the Nintendo Wii is a very active video game, system it appeals to a much different demographic than traditional game systems. Many buyers of the Nintendo Wii are first-time game console buyers, lured by the unique design.
One very popular addition to the Nintendo Wii is the Wii Fit Board. This unique accessory looks similar to a bathroom scale. The player stands on the board and then is able to control a character on the screen. After some setup, the Nintendo Wii Fit Board will take the user through a number of exercises all suited to help the user get in shape. A player makes a profile of their height, weight and other physical attributes then the Wii Fit Board goes to work at creating an exercise program tailored for each person. Over time the exercises become more challenging as the physical condition of the user improves. The Nintendo Wii has even been integrated into exercise programs at nursing homes and rehabilitation centers to help in maintenance and recovery.
Even though the Wii is unique and rather unconventional, it still appeals to hardcore gamers as well, with a full range of games for just about every taste. Some of the most popular games include: Wii Mario Kart, Wii Fit, Guitar Hero, Wii Star Wars, Wii Rock Band and Wii Ski.
For those looking for a unique gaming experience, the Nintendo Wii is certainly a great choice compared to other video game consoles. Not only can you play games on it, but it can also connect to the internet and be used to surf the internet. Rather than sitting at a computer, which is what you likely do all day at work, the Wii allows you to surf the internet without leaving the couch. For occasional web surfers, now there’s no need to have a separate computer that rarely gets used. You can save money by purchasing a new, used, or refurbished Nintendo Wii System online.
The Nintendo Wii is the most innovative video game console to be released in many years. From the youngest child to the seniors, it’s a great gaming system for just about anyone.
